Much of this section is of course a matter of personal preference and is included in detail as a 'road map' of the process required for specifying a boat such as this, but may also stimulate thought for anyone comtemplating embarking on this process.
The degree to which an individual gets involved in this process is in itself a personal choice. I would imagine that most boat builders would welcome the opportunity to supply a 'Vanilla" model where everything is standard. However the reality is that everyone I have met or spoken with, who either already has, or is in the process of obtaining such a boat, is very much interested in expressing themselves in the design process.
