This site is where we can share details about our Selene 59, Hull #18, the build process, it's systems and our travels. The hull lay-up started on the 16th April 2008, was completed and shipped from Zhuhai in March 2009 arriving in Bobbin Head on the Hawkesbury River in NSW on the 3rd April where she was fitted with instruments and commissioned and commenced her maiden voyage on the 14th July.
The name Buena Vista also reflects a theme built around the Buena Vista Social Club, the famous Cuban Latin Jazz Club, which fits in with our love of Jazz and particularly Latin Jazz. The idea of the flybridge becoming our the Buena Vista Social Club appeals!!
Since our maiden voyage in July 2009, we have cruised her over 12,000 nautical mile along the East Coast of Australia, circumnavigated Tasmania and out into the Pacific to Lord Howe Island, New Caledonia and Vanutau. We are currently cruising in the Mediterranean, where we will be for 2 or 3 years.
Keep an eye on the "Where is the boat?" page to track our position and "Travel Notes"page describes some of our experiences.
